46. MOSSBRAE FALLS. (On the Shasta Route.) Mossbrae Falls are located about one and three-quarter miles above Upper Soda Springs. They are scattered along the mountain side for about half a mile, and are not so much noted for their great height or the roar of their waters as for the charm of their surroundings. They steal down with a quiet rustle over great banks of mosses and ferns, and fall with a musical gurgle into the river below. These falls furnish an abundant supply of ice water even in dog-days; in fact, their temperature in summer is about as low as in winter.
