This CPRR ticket for First Class passage on the connecting Virginia & Truckee Railroad between the CPRR main line at Reno, NV, and Virginia City, NV, was issued by the CPRR General Ticket Office (“M”) at San Francisco, CA, on April 17, 1878. It was issued for travel "GOING EAST" From San Francisco to Union Junction. This paper pass / ticket was presented to: Hon. (Honorable) Francis E. Shober M.C. Shober was a U.S. Representative or Member of Congress (M.C.) from the state of North Carolina, serving as a Democrat from 1869 – 73.
