Union Pacific Railroad

Western Union

February 1866

Mr. Dodge-

We've been to Nebraska and found out that there aren't enough trees along the route to make the railroad ties we need. We did find trees in the North Platte River Valley in western Nebraska. Now the Union Pacific will not have to import so many railroad ties from the east.

What would you like us to work on now?1
